Lower Back

The low back is the most common part of the body seen for physical therapy. This is because people generally have poor posture and are weak in the center (core) of the body. This provides the low back / spine with chronic exposure to bad body mechanics and undesirable prolonged positioning in the absence of the strength necessary to protect the spine. Pain and disc injury is often the result. Our treatment of these injuries is based around the philosophy that the center needs to be strong, mobile, and exposed to the proper positioning and body mechanics during sustained positioning and activity. We believe this is the only long-term solution to acute and chronic low back pain. Symptom treatment is short term and will not provide long-term correction. Diagnoses include:

  • Herniated and bulging disc
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Sciatica
  • Lumbar sprain/strain
  • SI ( sacroiliac ) pain
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
